Course Summary

Heavenlyz salon management recommended training prepares you for either joining employment at an established salon or gives you the basic foundation for setting up your own grooming service as a self-employed person. You will be walked through the basics of all aspects of salon management, including business set up.

Heavenlyz has trained thousands of dog groomers since 1996 and we have schools around the country.

At the beginning of your course: –

  • You will be provided with the necessary course resources
  • You will be briefed on what to expect day to day
  • You will be inducted to the salon environment as well as mandatory aspects of health and safety and risk management

Throughout the course: –

  • You will undertake practical grooming and styling training
  • You will work through the Heavenlyz course guide
  • You will be prepared to undertake several practical assessments
  • You will be supported to study the theory described in the qualification course guide.

You can purchase at any time your personal Heavenlyz Professional Groomers Kit. The Kit will be invaluable for use during and after the course and contains a wide variety of quality equipment, enabling course completion and the offering of grooming services to paying customers.

Course Days: Wednesday – Thursday – Friday and alternate Saturdays

Heavenlyz recommend that you aim to attend as many days as possible in as few weeks as possible. If you wish, you can choose to study over a longer period by attending fewer days per week. However, Heavenlyz does not recommend this approach as it is more probable that you will spend longer on each day at Heavenlyz recapping on what you have previously learnt. This will allow you less time to concentrate on the topics you have to move on to and may not lead to the best outcome.

Course Length: 20 attended days, dates to be discussed to fit customer and business availability

Course Start and End: Subject to customer and business availability, courses can start as early as the day after a confirmed booking or customers can start their course months after booking has been confirmed. Courses must be complete within 13 months of confirmed booking.

Course Times: Start 10AM and finish 3PM per each attended day, but flexibility can be discussed

Course Fee: 20 Days £3,000 all inclusive

Optionally, the Level 3 Open College Network (OCN) West Midlands OR City & Guilds Qualifications can be taken at the end of this course.

At an appropriate time during the course, you will be able to decide whether you wish to pursue the Level 2 City & Guilds OFQUAL accredited nationally recognised qualification. Alternatively, you may wish to complete the training only and not take a qualification – it is your choice. You may also choose to achieve the qualification at a later date, though Heavenlyz would in most instances recommend you attempting a qualification appropriate to your level of skill at the end of one of our more extensive training courses.

During the course, we will find the appropriate time to discuss your needs and to guide you towards your best outcome.

If you decide that pursuing a qualification is right for you…

When you have completed a significant part of the training course and you are ready, you’ll be prepared for any theory and practical assessments.

To achieve the qualification itself, you will be given sufficient notice by Heavenlyz that on specific date(s)/ time(s)/ location(s) you will undertake practical assessments and potentially (dependent on the qualification chosen) computer-based online theory exams. It is highly likely that the location will be the same school at which you undertook your training.

You will then attend and undertake those assessment(s)/ exam(s), most of the time feedback regards success is confirmed on the day of those assessment(s)/ exam(s) – i.e. we always aim where possible to let you know the outcome on the day. Once Heavenlyz has told you the outcome, it is very unlikely to change. That is, in the vast majority of cases your assessment/ exam outcome is confirmed by Heavenlyz on the day.

All you have to do now is sit back, relax and wait for any certificates to arrive.

Heavenlyz submits evidence of your assessment to the relevant awarding body, who review this evidence. Once your practical assessment(s) and theory exam(s) have both been approved by the relevant awarding body they will despatch your certificate(s) to us, we will check them and forward them on to you. The awarding body process can take months, it is common for certificates to arrive with you 6 months after your final assessment/ exam.

Your certificate is proof of your level of competence and of your achievement for which you worked so hard.
